This weekend the Tri Cities will be home to the first annual Tattoo Convention at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick Washington. The convention will be a weekend event beginning Saturday, September 25, from 11:00am to 10:00pm and going through Sunday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. There will be many seminars, contests, vendors, and artists for you to enjoy and browse through. Vendors such as H2Ocean, 4 Horseman Productions/Pur Cirkus, OXYKing, Okygen Bar, Scentsy Wickless Candles, Photobooth, and others. Grape Crush Rush Fun Run
On September 25, the 3 Rivers Road Runners will be having their annual Grape Crush Rush in Kennewick Washington. This annual run will take place in Historic Downtown Kennewick and features a one mile and a 5K event. Both the 5K and one mile events will begin at 8:30am at Clock Plaza. The cost to register for the event is $9.00 after September 18. There are two ways in which to register, one way is to go online or you can register on the day of the event between 7:30 and 8:15am at Clock Plaza. Next Saturday, September 25 the East Benton County Historical Society is presenting a Historic Homes tour. The tour, Kennewick through the Ages, will take place in Historic Downtown Kennewick and will feature 6 of the city’s finest homes. You will be able to tour six homes from the first 50 years of the 20th century as well as the East Benton County Museum. The tour will begin at 10:00am and go until 5:00pm.

Tickets for the event can be purchased for $15 in advance at the East Benton County Museum or JD’s Time Center in Kennewick Washington; the Bookwork in Richland Washington; or the Franklin County Museum in Pasco Washington. The Tri Cities Washington Crime Stoppers is offering a personal safety class to help people how to identify dangerous situations and how to react in these situations. This personal safety class will be taught by Don Gulla, a veteran law enforcement officer who trains other cops on crisis intervention and defensive tactics. The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership will be hosting the first ever annual Painted Chair contest in the Tri Cities on July 19. Chairs may range in style, it could be a bench, kitchen chair, lawn chair, or any other sort of seat. Each contestant must also have a vote box which needs to be decorated and have a slot at the top for vote slips to slide through. Contestants must provide their own chair, decorations, and vote box. Participants in the Painted Chair contest must fill out an entry form and pay $10. Chairs will displayed at Flag Plaza on the corner of Kennewick Avenue and Auburn Street in Kennewick Washington.
