American Indian Heritage Month at Richland WA Public Library

The Richland Public Library of Richland Washington hosts a variety of events for the community and most of these events are free or very reasonably priced. During the month of November, there are a wide variety of family friendly events including a few presentations on Native American culture, movie nights, a puppet show, and more!

Puppet Show by WSU Tri Cities’ Students
On November 10, beginning at 1:30pm students from the Arts in Education class at WSU Tri Cities will be presenting four different puppet shows for children at the story circle. There is no charge.

Bethel Church's Fall Frenzy at Marcus Whitman Elementary

For many years now Bethel Church has been holding a Fall Frenzy event towards the end of October at their main Richland campus. Over the past several years though Bethel began to branch out into the community and started holding their annual Fall Frenzy event at area schools. For a few years now, one of those locations has been Marcus Whitman Elementary School in Richland Washington. This year is no different, Fall Frenzy will be held at Marcus Whitman on October 30 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The Fall Frenzy is similar to a carnival, there will be booths, games, tractor pulls and various events where children and adults can participate and receive goodies! This is a great place to bring the whole family to and spend time together!

Pendleton Oregon Rodeo Round-Up Celebrates 100 Years

September 15-18 head down to Pendleton Oregon for the 100 year anniversary of the Pendleton Rodeo. This long-time annual event draws huge crowds every year including some of the biggest names in the rodeo circuit and a throng of celebrity rodeo fans. This four-day rodeo is expected to bring in over 70,000 people to Pendleton, a town of about 17,000 residents. One of the biggest reasons for the success of the rodeo is the town’s commitment to staying true to traditions. Some of those traditions started 100 years ago include banning advertising in the arena, keeping the bucking chutes made of wood, maintaining the arena’s center grassy area, and the continual use of volunteers every year. In order to make it on the list cities had to have a healthy economy, strong schools, low crime rates, job growth, vibrant local culture, and lots of parks and recreational activities. Seattle Seahawk Day in Tri-Cities Washington

The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Seattle Seahawks, is proud to host the 7th Annual “Seattle Seahawks Tri-Cities Day” on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Ticket sales begin Thursday, July 26, 2010 at 8:00 am for the season opener versus the San Francisco 49ers.

The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce has only 300 tickets to be sold for this opening home game. They will be sold on a first come basis.

Annual Prosser Fly-In and Show at Prosser Airport, Washington

How about Cool Desert Nights…with wings!? Well that’s exactly what Prosser Washington’s Fly-In is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday July 18, 19 and 20. The Fly-In is an annual event sponsored by the South Central Washington Experimental Aircraft Association; there are various kinds of planes in many different stages on display and flying around.
