Through the various classes your child will learn the basics of knitting and crocheting, learn how to make jewelry, create knitting or weaving crafts that could make great gifts, as well as a variety of other creative shapes and toys. 17th Annual Safe Kids Saturday

On Saturday, May 7, the 17th annual Safe Kids Saturday event will be held in the Kadlec Regional Medical Center campus. This annual event is from 10:00am until 2:00pm in the Corrado Parking Lot of Kadlec on the corner of Swift & Goethals. This event is a great for parents who want their children to learn more about safety. Safe Kids Saturday is a great way to for children to learn about safety and to have fun at the same time. Parents will also learn ways to keep their children safe with the help of over 30 community-minded organizations. March for Dimes' Annual March for Babies

The March of Dimes will be having their annual March for Babies, May 7 at Columbia Park in Kennewick. The march is a 6.5 mile walk through Columbia Park along the river. Throughout the 6.5 miles there will be six checkpoints along the way and a hot dog lunch at the end. Things start going at 8:00am when the refreshments and registration begins. At 8:45am there will be warm-ups and announcements with the walk beginning at 9:00am. The purpose of the March of Dimes’ March for Babies is to raise money for research and programs. Under the direction of Todd Westendorf the Chiawana High School Stage Company will be giving several performances of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe; the costumes were put together by Verna Schwilke. Performances will take place this weekend and next on Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm, April 15,16, 22 and 23. Tickets cost $10 for students and $12 for adults, they can be purchased at the Chiawana High School ASB Office Monday-Friday between 7:00am-2:00pm, Mills Music in Kennewick Washington or at the door.

For many years now Bethel Church has been holding a Fall Frenzy event towards the end of October at their main Richland campus. Over the past several years though Bethel began to branch out into the community and started holding their annual Fall Frenzy event at area schools. For a few years now, one of those locations has been Marcus Whitman Elementary School in Richland Washington. This year is no different, Fall Frenzy will be held at Marcus Whitman on October 30 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The Fall Frenzy is similar to a carnival, there will be booths, games, tractor pulls and various events where children and adults can participate and receive goodies!
