For those of you who have enrolled your elementary students in any of the Summer Science Camps at WSU Tri Cities then check this out! It is time once again to start thinking about which on the camps you want to enroll your child(ren) in this summer! For those of you who have not done any of the summer science camps before, these week long day camps offer students a chance to engage in safe, fun and creative activities as well as the chance to build inventions. Camps are held Monday-Friday from 8:30-4:30 at the WSU Tri Cities campus in Richland Washington. Space is limited, so get registered quickly!

Gizmos, Gadgets and Coop: During the week of June 10-24, your K-5th grade child will enjoy learning about electricity , energy and light. Students will have the chance to build electronic gadgets that introduce them to the fundamentals of electricity.

Space and Rocketry: During the week of June 27-July 1, your K-5th grade child will enjoy learning about the moon and other things in the solar system. Students will have the chance to build their own reusable rocket that they will use on Launch Day.

Creatures, Critters and Creepy Crawlies: During the week of July 5-8(extended day) or August 1-5 your K-5th grade child will enjoy learning about the animal kingdom. Students will have the chance to dissect owl pellets, make a crocodile and learn about the life cycle of a frog.  Then your student will have the chance to explore many aspects of the human body.

Robot Factory: During the week of July 11-15 or August 8-12, your K-5th grade child will enjoy learning about robots and building one themselves in order to try to defeat the Buggy Bot! Mad Scientist Adventure: During the week of July 11-15, your K-5th grade child will enjoy investigating a mystery using forensics, fingerprint analysis and more. Students will enjoy the opportunity to look into some of the greatest science blunders of all time and creating some cool science experiments.

Fantastic Physics Challenge: During the week of July 11-15, your K-5th grade child will enjoy learning about Newton’s three laws of motion through hands on experiments. Students will also be able to see and learn about the relationship between physics and body, sports and self guided contraptions.
