On Friday, December 17, from 7:00-9:00pm the REACH Interpretive Center will be hosting the monthly 509Art Salon. The 509Art Salon is a place for local artists and art enthusiasts to get together to meet one another, it is also a place for them to discuss and experience art in Eastern Washington. During the December Salon come and hear about the REACH and the 2011 Mardis Gras event, discuss how to incorporate the Arts community into the event, and learn about Richland’s desire to add art along the Columbia River. The December 509Art Salon will take place at the REACH Interpretive Center in Richland Washington.

The Benton Franklin chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled several blood drives throughout the Tri Cities Washington. The Red Cross depends on the kind generosity of healthy members in the community to give blood each and every day. The life span of cells is not long, platelets only last up to 5 days and red blood cells last up to 42 days. Visit any of the scheduled blood drives or go to the Tri Cities Donor Center to give the gift of blood this holiday season.

For many years now Bethel Church has been holding a Fall Frenzy event towards the end of October at their main Richland campus. Over the past several years though Bethel began to branch out into the community and started holding their annual Fall Frenzy event at area schools. For a few years now, one of those locations has been Marcus Whitman Elementary School in Richland Washington. This year is no different, Fall Frenzy will be held at Marcus Whitman on October 30 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The Fall Frenzy is similar to a carnival, there will be booths, games, tractor pulls and various events where children and adults can participate and receive goodies! Tickets for the Mid Columbia Ballet’s most popular performance, The Nutcracker will be going on sale November 1!  There will be several showings in December. Showings will be December 10 at 7:00pm, December 11 at 2:00pm and again at 7:00pm, and December 12 at 2:00pm. On Saturday, September 25, the City of Richland will be holding their 10th City Fair beginning at 10:30am and going until 1:30pm. The fair will be a way for the residents of Richland Washington and the rest of the Tri Cities to come learn about the municipal services, programs and projects. Come by the Richland City Hall on the corner of George Washington Way and Swift Blvd where there will be activities, displays and demonstrations for all ages.
