Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition at CBC in Pasco

The Art Department at Columbia Basin College, in Pasco Washington, will be putting on their Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The exhibition will begin on May 17 in the Esvelt Gallery at CBC, there will be an opening reception and awards ceremony on May 20 beginning at 7:00pm. A collection of student work will be displayed that reflects the finest efforts of CBC art students, past and present. The exhibit is open to the public, the gallery hours are Monday – Thursday from 8:00am to 8:30pm, and Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; admission is free. West Pasco's Heritage
Lewis and Clark first camped it the Pasco area in October of 1805. Their exhibition is commemorated by the Sacagawea State park located on the river next to West Court Street. Pasco and the rest of the Tri Cities were mainly a fur trader camp but they really started to grow in size when the Hanford project was started in the 1940's.

Richland School District
The Richland School District takes care of the educational needs of both Richland and West Richland. The district currently serves about 11,000 students at the 15 schools; nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools. There are about 570 classroom teachers on staff in the school district which makes a nice teacher student ratio of about 1 to 20.
