Columbia Basin College LogoThe Art Department at Columbia Basin College, in Pasco Washington, will be putting on their Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The exhibition will begin on May 17 in the Esvelt Gallery at CBC, there will be an opening reception and awards ceremony on May 20 beginning at 7:00pm. A collection of student work will be displayed that reflects the finest efforts of CBC art students, past and present. The exhibit is open to the public, the gallery hours are Monday – Thursday from 8:00am to 8:30pm, and Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; admission is free. Columbia Basin College LogoThe Columbia Basin College Theatre Department will be performing Communicating Doors, a comedy thriller, written by Alan Ayckbourn. On May 14, 15, 21, and 22, there will be a showing of the play at 7:30 in the CBC theatre.  The play is rated PG. This theatre presentation is brought to you by the Arts and Humanities Division at Columbia Basin College, in Pasco Washington, as part of their continuing community enrichment program. The meet and greet is for the U.S. Senate candidate Clint Didier. Didier will be answering questions from voters about his campaign; he is running against the current senator Patty Murray. Didier was the tight-end for the Washington Redskins and then for the Green Bay Packers before returning to the Mid Columbia as a farmer and businessman.

Taste of Home magazine and Taste Tri Cities will be joining together for the Taste of Home Cooking School at the TRAC in Pasco Washington on Thursday, May 13. The show will begin at 6:30p but doors will open at 4:30p for the Expo beforehand. The pre-event Expo will feature local businesses, shopping, samples, and savings. Tri Cities Has Lowest Cost of Living in the State The Council for Community and Economic Research based out of Arlington Virginia has reported that the Tri Cities continues to have the lowest cost of living in the state of Washington.
