Tri Cities Has Lowest Cost of Living in the State The Council for Community and Economic Research based out of Arlington Virginia has reported that the Tri Cities continues to have the lowest cost of living in the state of Washington. Columbia River Boat SailingThe Tri Cities earned a composite rating of 90.5 on the cost of living index while other cities in our area had a higher cost of living rating; Yakima had a rating of 96.4, Spokane is at 93.0, Seattle was high on the cost of living index with a rating of 123.3. The Arlington based council measures the relative price levels of consumer goods and services nationwide. The Council for Community and Economic Research gets the information about price data quarterly from volunteers in different areas and analyzes the prices along with population data to determine the average cost. Tri Cities Washington The Tri Cities Washington is located in southeastern Washington along the Columbia River. The area has been recognized quite a few times over the past year for being on various lists; like the one of the "Top Ten Romantic Getaway Places"Âť, one of the "Top Ten Places Seeing Job Growth"Âť, and among other reasons having one of the best housing markets. The Tri Cities has proven itself worthy throughout the down economy as being able to support itself and remain stable. The Tri Cities is a great place to live for a variety of reasons besides being those listed above.
