For 30 years now Kennewick Washington has been home to the annual Tri Cities Wine Festival and this year is no different. Join other wine lovers November 5-6 for a weekend of wining and dining. The festival will take place at the Three Rivers Convention Center.

Friday night will feature a night of wine, a 5-course meal and a seminar. Things will get rolling at 6:30pm and last until 10:00pm. The reception will start things off with dishes such as Blue Cheese Polenta Cakes, Smoked Salmon Canapes, and Wild Mushrooms Chaussons. During the evening learn about wine and food pairings while enjoying a 5-course gourmet meal of dishes such as Arugula and Fennel Salad with Polenta Croutons and Goat Cheese Eclairs and a mixed grill where Pornini Seared tenderloin of Beef and Spice Crusted Duck Breast and Herb Rubbed Lamb Loin will be served among other dishes. A selection of 6 festival wines will also be available. The price for the evening is $85, tickets can be purchased at the TicketMaster or the Toyota Center Box Office.

There will be several seminars on Saturday beginning with “Developments in the Washington Wine Industry” from 9:30-11:00am; the cost is $35 per person. At this first seminar Dr. Thomas Henick-Kling will present on the state’s wine industry and innovations in vineyard management and wine productions. The next seminar of the day is “Red Mountain: From Beginning to End” from 11:30-1:00pm; the cost is $35. Learn about Red Mountain, Washington’s smallest viticulture area, and what makes the wines from this area so special. Then from 1:30-3:00pm there will be the seminar, “Around the World with Sparkling Wines and Champagne;” the cost is $35. Eric Manz will be presenting about the history of Champagne and sparkling wines.

On Saturday evening there will be a wine tasting from 7:00 to 10:00pm; the cost is $60 in advance or $65 at the door, tickets can be purchased at the TicketMaster or the Toyota Center Box Office. The purchase of a ticket will allow you to enjoy tasting over 400 Northwest Wines and appetizers from area restaurants and caterers as well as cheese, bread, fruit, and chocolate. From 6:00-8:30pm there will be a silent auction in conjunction with the wine tasting. Auction items will be on display in the grand hallway.
