For all the senior citizens out there looking for ways to live a fuller happier life, check out the 3rd Annual Senior Life Show in June. The Senior Life Show is a great place to go for information about local resources benefiting seniors. There will be several seminars given covering topics such as health and wellness, care giving and legal advice. Local musical, dance and other performing groups will be providing the entertainment. Prizes will be given out throughout the event and light refreshments will be available. There is no charge to attend. The Senior Life Show takes place at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick Washington on June 17 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Hope to see you there!

17th Annual Safe Kids Saturday

On Saturday, May 7, the 17th annual Safe Kids Saturday event will be held in the Kadlec Regional Medical Center campus. This annual event is from 10:00am until 2:00pm in the Corrado Parking Lot of Kadlec on the corner of Swift & Goethals. This event is a great for parents who want their children to learn more about safety. Safe Kids Saturday is a great way to for children to learn about safety and to have fun at the same time. Parents will also learn ways to keep their children safe with the help of over 30 community-minded organizations. On Monday, February 28 at 7:00pm Mid Columbia Library will be hosting the Community Science and Technology Seminar series. This next seminar will be given by Dr. Glen Fryxell on nanomaterials. Dr. Fryxell will be discussing what nanomaterials are and in what ways they can be beneficial or harmful. Dr. Fryxell has been working with nanostructure materials for the last 22 years at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. While working with these materials Fryxell also has spent time looking into its uses for environmental applications like sequestration of toxic heacy metals from industrial streams and groundwater. In 2009 Dr. Fryxell was named a Battelle Distinguished Inventor, he is named as inventor of 16 US Patents. There is no cost to attend this event.…

For 30 years now Kennewick Washington has been home to the annual Tri Cities Wine Festival and this year is no different. Join other wine lovers November 5-6 for a weekend of wining and dining. The festival will take place at the Three Rivers Convention Center.
