The speaker for the September 8 dinner meeting of the local ASQ (American Society for Quality) section will be Joe Estey.

His talk “Choosing Wisely: Recognizing and Avoiding The Control Paradox” will provide insights to help distinguish and avoid The Control Paradox, which is defined as follows:

By seeking to eliminate the undesirable event through the elimination of human error, we guarantee the undesirable event by ignoring human nature.

The meeting will be held at the Shilo Inn in Richland, with check in/networking starting at 5:30 pm, buffet dinner at 6, and the presentation at 6:45.

Admission:
