July 23, 1944, marked a historic moment in WWII for the United States Army Air Forces, as well as in the history of Richland and the Hanford area. Around 51,000 employees from Hanford Engineer Works donated a day’s pay towards the purchase of a B-17 bomber. This amazing effort to come together to share resources in contributing to the war effort displays how one community can make a difference. To keep the spirit of the Day’s Pay alive, the Reach Foundation holds an annual fundraiser that brings our community together to support how we share and inspire the history of our area, our current way of life, and what our future holds for the next…

The REACH Museum Summer Camp for Kids: Producing and Using Solar Energy

The Solar Camp will let the kids know and experience how to produce solar electricity. The project will teach the little ones the uses of solar energy, especially in the household, like cooking and heating water. As the kids take on the solar energy project, they will be taught how to view the sun in a manner that is safe for their eyes.
