Disney’s Camp Rock the Musical at ACT’s Black Box Theatre will be hosted by the Academy of Children’s Theatre. The performances are the conclusion of an intensive two-week long summer camp at ACT. The summer event was attended by 38 participants in grades 4-12. The students in the camp all have roles in the production, which is based on the popular Disney musical.

Tickets are priced at $8 for adults; $5 for students and seniors – only available at the door. No advance sales.

On Wednesday and Thursday, May 28 and 28 musicians are invited to open pick, jam and dry camp. Live performances will be on Friday through Saturday, May 30 and 31.

Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. But bleachers are available should you wish to witness the performance from there. On Sunday, June 1, first ever Bluegrass Gospel musical worship will take place.

One of literature’s greatest works, by no less than the greatest English writer of all time, William Shakespeare, will be given a 20th century approach by the drama students of the Academy of Children’s Theatre.

ACT’s production will take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, setting it in 1967 during San Francisco’s Summer of Love. The story will follow the adventures of a spirited but mischievous fairy, Puck, who pulls on all sorts of hilarious antics that intentionally and unintentionally complicate the other characters, which include Oberon, Titania, Hermia, Helena, Lysander, Demetrius, Egeus, Theseus, Hippolyta and Bottom.

For all the senior citizens out there looking for ways to live a fuller happier life, check out the 3rd Annual Senior Life Show in June. The Senior Life Show is a great place to go for information about local resources benefiting seniors. There will be several seminars given covering topics such as health and wellness, care giving and legal advice. Local musical, dance and other performing groups will be providing the entertainment. Prizes will be given out throughout the event and light refreshments will be available. There is no charge to attend. The Senior Life Show takes place at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick Washington on June 17 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Hope to see you there!
