Memorial Day Events around the Mid ColumbiaIn honor of those who have served and are serving there will be multiple ceremonies around the Mid Columbia on Memorial Day.  

At the Columbia Memorial Gardens in Pasco Washington the American Legion Post 34 will be holding a ceremony at 10:00 am and again at 1:00 pm at the Cityview Cemetery. Following the ceremonies will be beef stew and cornbread at the Legion Post in Pasco.

At 10:30 am at the new Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Governor Chris Gregoire will help open and dedicate the first state veteran’s cemetery which will be in Medical Lake. This cemetery will be able to serve nearly 140,000 veterans and their families in Eastern Washington.

U.S. Army Sponsored Fever Game with Special Silent Auction for Wounded Warrior Project
This Saturday night, May 29, the Tri City Fever Football team will be playing against the Fairbanks Grizzlies. The Fever team and the U.S. Army will be joining forces for this memorial weekend game. Players of the Fever team will be wearing special edition U.S. Army camouflage jerseys for the game. During the game a silent auction will take place for the special edition jerseys to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
