National Wildlife Refuge Week 2014 In Richland, WashingtonFrom Tuesday, October 14 until Friday, October 17 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife is teaming with the Reach Center located at 1943 Columbia Park Trail in Richland, for the National Wildlife Refuge Week 2014 featuring the Hanford Reach National Monument.

Details of the Event
Professional photographer John Clement will lead a field trip to photograph the fall landscapes of the monument. Classes will on Tuesday, October 14 from 6 to 8 in the evening while the field trip will be on Friday, October 17 from 7 in the morning until 12 noon . Admission fee is $45.

A Time of Remembrance - Honoring Our Fallen Heroes In Kennewick, WashingtonOn Saturday, September 27 the families and fellow comrades of the fallen heroes will have the chance to confidentially get together for a time of sharing, and will attend break-out sessions which will provide information to assist in the process of coping with their loss and sacrifice. A Candlelight Vigil will happen at Columbia Park at the Veteran's Memorial in Kennewick, Washington. Everyone is encouraged to join the families at the Candlelight Ceremony beside the Columbia River. The Vigil will start at 7:30 in the evening.

The following day Sunday, September 28 there will be an official State Recognition Ceremony that will be hosted by the City of West Richland at Flat Top Park. The goal of the event is to have each of our heroes memory…

Tri Cities Wa Lighted Boat ParadeTri Cities Wa Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River this weekend December 4th and 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening.  Bring your warm clothes and (hopefully) stand next to a warm fire or friend and enjoy the parade.  We have a home on the Columbia River and the Lighted Boat Parade has been a holiday highlight for us as a family.

Christmas Lighted Boat Parade will travel up river on the Kennewick side along Columbia Park. At around 7:30 in the evening they will turn around at the far end of Howard Amon Park in Richland and travel back down river on the same course. They will arrive back at Clover Island and make an additional loop for everyone on the island before heading back into the Clover Island Marina at around 9:00…

The Tri Cities WA was recently ranked as the 13th strongest metropolitan economy. A recent report put out by Policom Corp studied 366 metropolitan areas and ranks them based on 23 distinctive economic factors over a 20 year time frame. These 23 factors include earnings, jobs, and wages in the areas of retail, farm jobs, non-farm jobs. Since 2009 the Tri Cities has been making a steady climb towards their present position of 13. In 2009 the Tri Cities was ranked 125th, in 2010 their ranking was 70th, and in 2011, 35th. The Tri Cities current placing has been accredited to having a very strong economy due to its ability to weather the recent recession.
