Richland’s Leprechaun Dash for Elementary and Middle School Students Here’s something for elementary and middle school students out there.

Tri Cities Wa presents the Leprechaun Dash, a one-mile fun run to be held in a closed portion of Columbia Park Trail. The fun run is happening on March 15, and it will start and finish near near R.F. McDougall’s and Kimo's.

The Leprechaun Dash
There is no fee to join the Dash. This is Three Rivers Road Runners’ way to help kids have some fun, get healthy, and stay fit at the same time. However, runners need to register, as their parents’ signatures are needed on the entry forms. Children older than 15 years old are excluded from registering for the Leprechaun Dash.

Parents have nothing to worry about as the organizers made sure there would be a safe, controlled course with the park road being closed for the duration of the race. Parents can let the kids run and wait for them at the finish. Nevertheless, if parents must run with their kids, they would have to run with them unofficially (which means parents should not register themselves) and start out at the back of the pack.

School with the Most Finishers Wins
Incidentally, the elementary school with the most finishers will be declared Leprechaun Dash winner and will receive a check for $2,000 from 3RRR, to use towards PE equipment. Elementary schools to finish at second and third place will receive $1,300 and $700, respectively. Please note, though, that a minimum of 100 finishers is required before a school is declared winner.

For questions and more information, please contact the race director, Eric Greager, at sageg[@]charter.net. Online registration is available until March 2.
