Attend an open mic for all word lovers at the Paper Street Brewing Company for Words in Progress.  Poetry, prose, memoirs, journal entries, and all other creative musings are welcome. Read your work or submit your work to be read aloud. Not a writer of words? Don’t worry, listeners are encouraged (some content might not be suitable for children).

Academy of Children's Theatre ACT's Spectrum on Stage | Autism Acting ClassesThe Academy of Children's Theatre Spectrum on Stage Autism Acting Classes will launch a groundbreaking program for children on the autism spectrum in November. ACT's "Spectrum on Stage" class will be held on Thursdays beginning November 5 and continuing through December 17. The class is available to students eight years old and up. Class size is limited, and a wait-list is anticipated.

The program is based on theatre for autism techniques demonstrated at the National Autism convention, and the special curriculum has been devised by ACT education director Julie Schroeder who is certified in teaching Drama for Autism.

Rose Ensemble presented by Camerata in Richland's Battelle AuditoriumThe Rose Ensemble presented by Camerata will be performed on Saturday, November 21. The Minneapolis–based vocal group returns to the series with Il Poverello (“the poor one”), a thematic program featuring readings and music about Francis of Assisi ranging from the 12th to the 15th centuries.

The program includes a mix of music and culture of medieval Spain where Jews, Christians and Muslims lived together in a shared and artistic society, which demonstrates how diversity and tolerance stays alive in music. Unique instruments that will be part of the music making include a riqq (tambourine), dumbek (drum) and rebec (fiddle).
