Ordinary people. Extraordinary courage. These are the words used by the Red Cross when determining the nominees for its annual Real Heroes Breakfast.
Real-Life Heroes
The Benton-Franklin chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled its annual Real Heroes Breakfast on March 6, 2014 from 6:45AM to 8:30AM at TRAC, 6600 Burden Boulevard, Pasco. The event is a celebration of the power of the humanitarian spirit in the community. On that morning, local citizens who did something remarkable to help others will be honored.
Choosing a Hero
“Hero” nominations are currently being sought for the following categories: Spirit of the Red Cross, Humanitarian Hero, Animal Rescue Hero, Workplace Safety Hero, Community Organization Hero, Citizen Rescue Hero, Emergency Services Hero, and Blood Donation Hero. An independent panel of judges, who would then select one “Hero” per category, will review all nominations.
During the event, a video vignette of each chosen hero’s act of heroism will be shown. Each recipient would also get a copy of the video, along with a personalized commemorative medallion.
Proceeds from the Real Heroes Breakfast will be used to support local Red Cross programs and services and honor area citizens for remarkable acts of service.
