The organizers announced that this year's ceremony will be held in a normal manner featuring an outdoor ceremony by the lake and 1,096-flag raise.

The General Manager of Sunset Garden's Cemetery, Pat Hollick, encourages people to take part in the event and enjoy it considering it's like Richland's Christmas Day when people can let inspiring happiness emanate.

The 2021 55th Annual Columbia Cup Hydroplane Races On The Columbia River & Water Follies have been rescheduled from 2022 to July 23-25, 2021 as Governor Inslee has announced the reopening of the state by June 30th.  Hector Cruz, the board president said in a recent new release,  “After careful consideration of Washington state event guidelines changing and collaboration with the cities of Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco, Water Follies is a go!”  In the same press release, Kathy Powell, event director said, “Details are being ironed out, but the event will look a little different as we navigate how to comply with the state COVID guidelines.”
