Easter Egg Hunt and Fundraiser at Jackson's in Richland

Join 98.3 The Key at Jackson's Sports Bar on Saturday April 3rd for the EGGSTRAVAGANZA Easter Egg Hunt and Fundraiser to benefit 2nd Harvest of the Tri-Cities. There will be a silent auction, drink and food specials, live music from "Plastic Soul", and a ton of give always and prizes! The fun begins at 7:00 pm this Saturday night. WSU Tri Cities to Host Law Enforcement Career Talk

Those interested in careers in law enforcement are invited to a career talk at the Washington State university Tri Cities campus. The talk will take place in the Consolidated Information Center Thursday night, April 8, at 6:00p. The event will feature speakers from area police departments, sheriff’s offices and the Washington State Patrol. There is no charge for this event and all prospective students are invited. Fifth Annual Benton City Spring Opener Car and Bike Show

The fifth annual Car and Bike Show will be April 24 from 9:00a – 3:00p at Kiona Benton Middle School. Sponsored by the Economic Development Center and the Chamber of Benton City, this event has helped support local youth groups such as the Boys and Girls Club, Grid Kids, 4-H, and Boy Scouts. RLOC to Begin Season with Miss Saigon

The Richland Light Opera Company is beginning their 2010 season with Miss Saigon. Miss Saigon is a story similar to Madame Butterfly. The story takes place in Vietnam during the war. One of the main characters, Chris is a sympathetic, tortured figure, in love with Kim. He must abandon her when he feels there is no hope in going to her when Vietnam is closed off to Americans. This story focuses on the lives of six people, woven intricately together in a setting of extraordinary circumstances.

Show times are:
Saturday, April 3 at 8:00p – free admittance for all Vietnam veterans and Vietnamese Refugees
Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00p – students are free with valid student ID

Applicants Sought for Miss Tri Cities Contest

The Miss Tri Cities Scholarship program is looking for applicants to participate in the 2010 Miss Tri Cities and Outstanding Teen pageants. For applicants to be accepted for the Miss Tri Cities pageant they must be between the ages of 17 and 24; graduating high school seniors are included. To participate in the Miss Tri Cities Outstanding Teen Pageant applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 17; graduating high school seniors not included. Union Gospel Mission May Have to Sell Property for Lewis Street Project

The City of Pasco is looking to redo the Lewis Street underpass making it wider and an overpass. Currently the underpass is so narrow that if two busses were to go through at the same time, their mirrors would clip each other. The project will increase public safety and needs to be done said Pasco City Manager Gary Crutchfield. As part of the Lewis Street Overpass project there are about 26 properties that the City is looking to purchase. Among these properties looking to be purchased is two of the Tri City Union Gospel Mission’s properties that are used for storing food and other necessities.

If these properties were purchased by the City then the Mission would have to stop doing Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes and they wouldn’t be able…

Thirty festivals and events from throughout Washington State were honored with 2010 Summit Awards from Washington Festivals & Events Association (WFEA) for their achievements in marketing and community service associated with events held in 2009. The Summit Awards ceremony took place at the Northwest Festivals and Events conference held on March 9, 2010 at the Seaside, Oregon Convention Center.

The Summit Award is a competition among Washington's festivals and event producers and recognizes those in the industry who are continually improving the quality and image of festivals and special events in the eyes of the community and media.

WSU Tri-Cities Fastest Growing and Most Diverse Campus

Last week the Washington State University Board of Regents met last Friday at the WSU Tri Cities campus in Richland. At the meeting WSU Tri Cities Chancellor, Vicky Carwein, gave a presentation about the Tri Cities campus and how it is the fastest growing and most diverse of the WSU campus’. WSU Tri Cities has seen considerable growth in the health and science fields as. The Tri Cities branch has been growing steadily over the past couple of years in the 2006-07 school year there were 1,066 students enrolled, this year there are 1,507 students.
