Every year, Hillspring Church [1153 Gage Blvd., Richland] is honored to tell the story of the birth of Jesus at Christmas time. About 200 volunteers come together as centurions, guides, shepherds, kings, and camels (actually, the camels are professionals) to tell the story in grand fashion. It is a beautiful and moving sight to behold and we invite you to join us!
Shows will run twice a night, starting on Sunday the 18th through Thursday the 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. We strongly recommend reserving a ticket for the show you and your loved ones want to join us for as soon as possible. Tickets always sell out.

We have two dogs and part of our day always includes walking our dogs, and oftentimes, twice a day. What follows is a list of places we walk our dogs and mostly are off-leash. Keep in mind, there are leash laws, so we are not advocating violating any leash laws. In fact, here is an example of our Washinton State's leash law: WAC 352-32-060. Most cities have similar laws in place. What follows is not only a list for everyone to use but a list that helps us to remember to visit places we've neglected visiting in a while. Recently the US News and World Report issued a new report on the “Top Ten Places to Begin a Second Career.” Many seniors throughout the US will continue to work past the age of 65 because they enjoy working. However, these seniors who enjoy working are having a challenging time finding employment. One of the factors that contribute to the availability of jobs is a vibrant community such as a college/university town or a city where government or healthcare jobs are prevalent.

California-based think tank company Milken Institute has released a report on the Top US Metro Areas that managed to create and sustain jobs in light of the national recession. The Kennewick-Richland-Pasco area is ranked number five on this list of 13 metro areas for the second year in a row. During the last 12 months, the Tri-City Washington area’s jobs increased by 4.5 percent, which is the highest percentage growth in the nation. This large increase in jobs is due mostly to the stimulus money coming in for Hanford.
