Benton-Franklin Humane Society 15th Annual Crab FeedThe Benton-Franklin Humane Society will be having its 15th annual crab feed for the benefit of the homeless animals under its care on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 2 to 8PM. This event will take place on the grounds of St. Joseph’s School, at 901 W. 4th Avenue in Kennewick.

Let’s get Smashing
It is Dungeness crab season, the perfect time to smash to your heart’s delight, send those mallets flying, and make those crabs a-crying. There will be hourly raffles and nonstop music to keep the party grinding. Pop a balloon and win a prize as you partake of scrumptious food prepared by no less than Castle Catering and 5-star chef dale Shepherd. Of course, beer and wine will be served to keep everyone happy.

Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival event is this coming Friday, January 10th.  Showtimes are 4pm & 7pm at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Tri Cities Wa Lighted Boat ParadeTri Cities Wa Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River this weekend December 4th and 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening.  Bring your warm clothes and (hopefully) stand next to a warm fire or friend and enjoy the parade.  We have a home on the Columbia River and the Lighted Boat Parade has been a holiday highlight for us as a family.

Christmas Lighted Boat Parade will travel up river on the Kennewick side along Columbia Park. At around 7:30 in the evening they will turn around at the far end of Howard Amon Park in Richland and travel back down river on the same course. Benton County was just named the most affordable metropolitan county in the state for first time homebuyers. This is a title Benton County is familiar with due to high wages, this is seen when looking at the first time homebuyer affordability index which is at 127.9(seasonally adjusted data). This means first time homebuyers come in with 28% more income than the minimum needed to qualify. When looking just one county over these numbers drop, in Franklin County the first time homeowner affordability index is 102.1, meaning first time homeowners come in with 2% more income then the minimum. Tri Cities Ranks in 9 Fastest Growing Housing Markets

The Tri Cities Washington area is a great place to buy a home, if you don't believe me then check out the recent data released by the Case-Shiller Housing Index. The Tri Cities, Washington area made it into the top 9 fastest growing housing markets in the country.

Throughout the country the projected housing markets are rather bleak. Out of the 384 largest metropolitan areas in the United States only 50 are expected to remain unchanged to the dropping prices. West Richland's Hogs & Dogs Event
If you are looking for something to do this weekend why not check out one of the largest motorcycle event in Eastern Washington? Hogs & Dogs is a major attraction every year in the Tri Cities Washington. Last year there were about 4,000 motorcycles and over 8,000 people who attended.
