Richland
Richland owes much of its history to the Hanford Site and the population influx its arrival in the area brought to the city. The Hanford Site started as a plutonium processing site and has since become a nuclear waste disposal research facility. Its arrival gave Richland a foothold into the tech industry that it continues to this day, though it also takes advantage of the favorable growing conditions in the area with a strong agricultural sector as well.
Kennewick
Kennewick is the largest of the Tri-Cities and with that distinction comes a wide array of entertainment options for the residents in and around the area. The Western Hockey League contributes to the Tri Cities sports scene with a team in Kennewick and the largest mall in the area, Columbia Center Mall, also calls Kennewick home. Kennewick also makes particular use of the Columbia River, offering a slew of parks on and near the river that take advantage of the natural beauty seen both in Kennewick and in the Tri-Cities as a whole. Bird watching is also a popular activity in the area, contributing to the relaxed atmosphere typical of Kennewick and the Tri-Cities Wa area.
