Children will have fun exploring electricity and technology in this hands-on science class that will cover the principals of magnetism and motors. Students will create an electromagnet, identify motor parts and use common tools to dismantle an electric motor.  All materials and tools are provided. Activity presenter is Owen Kramer a retired Project Controls Engineer and current substitute teacher for the Kennewick School District.

Kennewick's Science Is FunKennewick's Science Is Fun For Children | Clickety Clack Cranium is Friday, December 27, 1:00pm-3:00pm, Ages 8-11, $16 City Residents or $24 ~ Just in time to ring in the New Year! This is an introductory class for children interested in engineering, math, and wood crafting skills. Your kids will get to create a fun toy called a 'Clacker.'  A Clacker is a generational and traditional New Year's Eve noisemaker guaranteed to generate a lot of racket to bring in the year 2014. Under careful supervision, students will use a hand drill, Japanese saw, and a backsaw to create the Clacker from wooden parts provided.
