About the 'Badger Mountain Geology Hike'
The Badger Mountain Geology Hike will be led by the respected geologist, George Last. The event will feature a 3-mile, half-day hike headed to the top of Badger Mountain. The hiking route will start at the Dallas Road Trailhead and will end at the Canyon Trailhead, where a bus will be waiting to take the participants back to Dallas Road. During the event, George will share informative details regarding the Lake Lewis, Ice Age Floods, Rattlesnake-Wallula lineament, and the basalt lava flows.

The Reach: Wallula Gap: Bottleneck For The Ice Age Floods Hiking Tour Richland, WashingtonOn Saturday, October 3 join geologist – author Bruce Bjornstad on a bus ride to Wallula Gap and begin hiking a 4-5 miles moderate to strenuous terrain of the flood sculpted western side of the hasty Wallula Gap with an elevation gain of 800 feet.

Bruce is a Geologist – author specializing in sedimentology, stratigraphy, geomorphology, hydrogeology, environmental geology and a geoscience writer.  He is the former Senior Research Scientist of Battelle (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) from 1989 to 2014 and advanced Geologist of Rockwell Hanford Operations from 1981 to 1987. The Reach: Ice Age Floods Bus Tour Of The Mid Columbia Richland, WashingtonOn Saturday, September 5 join geologist/author Bruce Bjornstad for the Ice Age Floods Bus Tour of The Mid Columbia, an all-day bus tour of Ice Age flood. 

More about the Event
The Ice Age Floods Bus Tour of The Mid Columbia includes a tour of the region's geology and its influence on the "terroir" of the local wine industry. Registration fee is $75.00.

The 2015 REACH Tours will be escorted by a guide. Registered participants are requested to come 15 minutes early so the tour can depart on time. In addition, if you have any special diet requirement please inform the organizers when you sign up for the tour.

About the Event
Everyone is invited to come and join geologist-author Bruce Bjornstad on the Columbia River Journey's jet-boat tour from Richland through Wallula Gap before departing for a tour of McNary Dam. Continue by bus to Boardman, OR for a delicious lunch along the banks of the Columbia River followed by a tour of the Sage Center. Tour includes jet-boat ride, bus, lunch at the River Grill, beverages, and entrance to the Sage Center.
