Sounds of Summer Jazz Nite: An Evening of Swing Feeling
The Sounds of Summer Jazz Nite will feature the Columbia Basin Concert Band. The production will be under the direction of Russ Newbury and Dr. Collin Wilson. The CBC Jazz Ensemble will also perform, also under the direction of Dr. Collin Wilson. CBC FreeForm - Vocal Jazz is also included in the show, to be directed by Dave Cazier.
Jazz is the kind of music that makes the listeners want to dance. It is characterized by syncopation where there are accents in unexpected areas of the tune. Jazz calls for extraordinary technical ability since its players must be skilled at improvising. Don't miss the Sounds of Summer Jazz Nite and snap fingers to the wonderful music!
