Individuals who want to join the performance of Next to Normal are asked to prepare 32 bars of a musical theater song as their audition piece. This song must exhibit the auditioner's vocal talent and must be performed in a way similar to that of the character he wants to play. Participants are also advised to prepare their acting piece and carefully study the character they are interested in.
