Annual Kids Fishing Day - Columbia Park Pond Kennewick, WashingtonOn the evening of Friday, May 8, the annual Special Needs Fishing Event will be held at Columbia Park Pond in Kennewick. Participants will need to register with the ARC of the Tri-Cities or by phone at 509-783-1131. The event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening.

And on Saturday, May 9 register your child in Kennewick’s annual Kid’s Fishing Day at the Columbia Park Fishing Pond. Fishing times are scheduled at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m.

About the Event
Kids Outdoor Education (KOE), a local non-profit group, is sponsoring two days of fishing for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 and local residents with special needs. A new rod and reel is included with your registration. The Saturday event fills fast so please register as early as possible. Registration is available online through Kennewick Parks and Recreation. The pond will be stocked with over 5,000 large rainbow trout for the two events. In addition, many of the fish will be tagged. A great selection of prizes, all donated by local businesses, will be awarded for tagged fish caught during the events. There will be plenty of volunteers on hand to help out and there is even a fish cleaning station! Event t-shirts will be available for sale as well as a hot dog & pop for $1.50.
