The Art Department at Columbia Basin College is proudly hosting the exhibit, Encased in Wax. Encased in Wax features 37 small scale encaustic paintings by Susan Najarian and Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch, Western Washington artists. Each of the 37 pieces of art was created using an ancient form of painting called encaustic, this means that layers of pigment are covered in wax and combined to support the heat. Each painting is a representation of the outside world whether it is a depiction of people, plants, or animals.

The exhibit is located in CBC’s Esvelt Gallery in Pasco Washington and is open beginning on January 10 through February 3. The gallery is open to the public Monday –Thursday from 8:00am to 8:30pm and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm; the gallery is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
