Ski season is just around the corner and with that comes the annual ski and snowboard swaps. One of our local ski resorts, White Pass Ski Resort, is getting close to opening the slopes for the weekend, but not before the Volunteer White Pass Ski Patrol holds their annual White Pass Ski & Snowboard Swap in Yakima Washington. This annual ski swap, which has been going on for over 40 years now, features new and used snowboards, shaped skis, traditional skis, and a variety of new and used clothing. The ski swap will take place on Saturday, November 6 from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday, November 7 from 10:00am-3:00pm at the Yakima Fairgrounds. Enter gate 5, there is no charge for admission or parking. Cash and credit cards are accepted but no checks will be taken.
If you are interested in adding any of your ski and snowboard equipment to the swap, either as a donation or just so you don’t have to worry about selling anything then you can do that on Thursday or Friday, November 4-5. Registration on Thursday night is from 6:30-9:00pm and on Friday is 9:00am-9:00pm. There will be a $0.25 registration fee for each item that you register and each item sold will be subject to the 2010 Ski commission fee of 25%. The seller chooses the selling price, no less than $1.00; price changes are not allowed at the event. All items must be clean and in good repair. Come between 3:00pm–6:00pm on Sunday, November 7 to pick up all unsold merchandise.
Proceeds from the White Pass Ski and Snowboard Swap will go towards helping the Volunteer White Pass Ski Patrol provide the equipment and first-aid supplies needs to service skiers and snowboards at White Pass Ski Resort.
