On Tuesday, October 6 everyone is invited to Richland School District New School Tours at Lewis & Clark Elementary located in 415 Jadwin Avenue Richland, Washington at 5:30 in the evening.
About the Event
All community members are welcome to tour the new elementary schools which opened in August - Lewis & Clark, Orchard & Sacajawea. Â All three projects are part of the $98 million bond issue approved by voters in 2013.
"We thank Richland School District taxpayers for providing up-to-date facilities for our commuity's children," says Superintendent Rick Schulte. Â "These schools have opened to positive reviews. Â We encourage everyone to come and see first-hand how their tax dollars have been invested."

On Thursday, October 8 join Visual Analytics: Story Telling Through Human Centered Design at Mid-Columbia Libraries - Kennewick located at 1620 S. Union St. Kennewick, Washington at 7:00 in the evening.

On Saturday, October 17 the American Cancer Society (ACS) is hosting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer a Walk for a Cause event to honor breast cancer survivors and raises awareness about the disease. There will be three categories you can opt to join: 1 mile, 5K and 10K walk.Â
This coming Sunday, October 11 the Academy of Children’s Theatre is presenting the Princess Faire production a combination of Disney’s Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
This coming Saturday, October 10 bring your band at The Emerald of Siam Thai Restaurant and Lounge for an Open Mic Jam Night with Brian Holbrook. The stage is set with complete instrument for those who want to perform live with your band or do solo performance. Non-performers can just simply unwind and enjoy the music with your favorite drink.
On Saturday, October 10 The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) will conduct a public drop-in tours at 1:30 in the afternoon and Observatory tours on the 4th Friday of every month at 3:00 in the afternoon. The host will give you a presentation about their researches and will conduct a walking tour around the observatory including their control room.
On Saturday, October 10 Northwest Cancer Clinic is inviting the Tri-City community to join and gather at the Badger Mountain to honor Breast Cancer patients and survivors as well as their family and loved ones who had been involved in fighting this disease.
On Saturday, October 10 The Columbia River Chordsmen will be performing and entertaining you with harmonious cabaret style evening with pie and ice cream for dessert. The concert will be held at Kennewick First Presbyterian Church.
On Monday, October 5 be amazed with the lively and vigorous social dances of Latin America and other countries with the Kalliflorico Dance Company. The dance group will teach you how to dance Mexican Style Polka and Rock & Roll. Dance steps are fun to learn and it is a great way to keep your body fit. Dance instructors are all bi-lingual.
