All community members are welcome to tour the new elementary schools which opened in August - Lewis & Clark, Orchard & Sacajawea.  All three projects are part of the $98 million bond issue approved by voters in 2013.

Hammered Dulcimer is a stringed musical instrument with 31 string pairs stretch over a trapezoidal shape sound box. This instrument is usually set on a stand in front of the musician who holds a small wooden mallet hammer to strike the strings which create a mandolin like sound.

Academy of Children’s Theatre – Fall Princess Faire Richland, WashingtonThis coming Sunday, October 11 the Academy of Children’s Theatre is presenting the Princess Faire production a combination of Disney’s Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Ligo Handford Second Saturday Public Tours Richland, WashingtonOn Saturday, October 10 The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) will conduct a public drop-in tours at 1:30 in the afternoon and Observatory tours on the 4th Friday of every month at 3:00 in the afternoon. Rising Above Cancer Badger Mountain Climb In Richland, WashingtonOn Saturday, October 10 Northwest Cancer Clinic is inviting the Tri-City community to join and gather at the Badger Mountain to honor Breast Cancer patients and survivors as well as their family and loved ones who had been involved in fighting this disease.

Rising Above Cancer Badger Mountain Climb
Participants are encouraged to bring their families and friends to climb up Badger Mountain on October 10. There will be a brief ceremony at the peak to honor patients, survivors and their families. The Northwest Cancer Clinic will be selling pink balloons for $5 at the venue for fund raising purposes. The proceeds will be given to the non-profit Focus on Cancer for free mammograms.

The Columbia River Chordsmen is a men’s chorus who sings family oriented, upbeat  songs without instrumental accompaniment (A cappella). The chorus is comprised of men from around Tri-Cities. Kalliflorico Dance Company At The Senior Center Pasco, Washington On Monday, October 5 be amazed with the lively and vigorous social dances of Latin America and other countries with the Kalliflorico Dance Company.  The dance group will teach you how to dance Mexican Style Polka and Rock & Roll. Dance steps are fun to learn and it is a great way to keep your body fit. Dance instructors are all bi-lingual.

About the Performers
The Kalliflorico Dance Company is a Latin and Folkloric dance company that started in Pasco, Washington. The group is headed by the talented teacher, director and choreographer Kalli Morales.
