Ai Weiwei Art Exhibit At Foundry Vineyard Walla Walla, WashingtonOn Thursday, October 15 Foundry Vineyard is inviting all of you to the opening reception of their next art exhibition featuring artwork of renowned Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei.

Details of the Event
Ai Weiwei is an activist, architect, curator and China’s most famous artist.  Ai’s famous works are installations, often tending towards the conceptual sparkling dialogue between the contemporary world and traditional Chinese modes of thought and production. Ai Weiwei ‘s father Ai Qing was a Chinese poet who was denounced during the rightist movement. 

Foundry Vineyard is located at 1111 Abadie Street Walla Walla, Washington. “Ai Weiwei Walla Walla” gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday, 11 am – 5pm. Admission is free!

Foundry Vineyards will be exhibiting the series Rebar and Case, eight sculptural works whose origin stems from the massive earthquake that shook the Sichuan province in China on May 12, 2008.

More than 5,000 schoolchildren died during the disaster. When the Chinese government failed to release the number and names of students that perished, the lack of transparency was suspicious.
