The smell of pizza wafted through the halls of Washington State University Tri-Cities on Friday, accompanied by the chatter and laughter of 50 sixth-graders. The children clustered around J.R. Gomez, the branch campus' Latino outreach coordinator, and they were fidgeting and bouncing with the kind of energy common in someone their age. "Are you ready to go to college?" he shouted.  "Yeah!"
