The Port of Benton has planned for numerous construction projects on the agenda for 2010. Each of the planned projects will be in Richland, Benton City, Prosser, or Crow Butte Park. The projects on the agenda for 2010 will help economic development like tourism related business. The Port of Benton’s agenda for 2010 will include:
This spring $1.2 million will go towards rebuilding the intersection of two runways at the airport. The Richland Airport is pleased to welcome Zero Gravity, a plane building company. The rebuilding of the runway intersection is needed with the addition of Zero Gravity. Plans for the airport will also include remodeling and expanding the old watchtower-turned-restaurant to include an additional 600 sq. feet.
Last year Prosser Airport began moving their runway 1,000 feet to the east because of the increased traffic on the road it runs along. This year the relocation of the runway will be completed.
