There is a proposal being considered by the Port of Pasco to adjust the port commission district boundaries. The reason for the change would be to distribute the population amoung the three districts for equal representation. District one is comprised of highway 395 and west to the Pasco-Kahlotus highway, this district has nearly 19,000 residents. The second district is the biggest population wise with 34,000 people, it goes from west Pasco to the Sagermore Dr. in the north to the Columbia River by the Blue Bridge. The last district, District has 12,500, and includes the areas of Mesa, Eltopia, and Connell. the Port of Pasco is looking to redistribute the second district to even out the number of residents. There will be a hearing to discuss this plan to redistribute today at 1:15 at the Port Office.
