Thursday night several people attended the consultant's report at the Clover Island Inn in Kennewick. The meeting was about the revitalization strategies for Columbia Drive's riverfront real estate, the proposed strategies received a tentative passing from those in attendance. The strategy includes the construction of tall buildings on the river side of Columbia Drive. Many feel that this is a great plan; some say that the river is the Tri Cities' best asset and to see the city capitalize on it is wonderful. Others are concerned that the plan would push the lower income residents out of the area, according to the plan this isn't going to happen. Since the plan has a tentative passing the next step is to look at how to fund the project.
