Kennewick Water Follies
The Tri-City Water Follies annual Rumble on the River makes a sizeable contribution to Kennewick Real Estate and the rest of the Tri-City real estate area. Local civic organizations, as well as other groups that help make the event a success, receive over $20,000 in funding for their efforts. It also contributes over $3,000,000.00 to the general economy through tourism, increased hotel bookings, and heavily increased traffic through gas stations, fast food chains, and restaurants. The Kennewick real estate along the Columbia Park East River has also benefited from increased attention to the pleasant aspects of Kennewick real estate living, such as 300 average days of sunshine a year, and highlights Kennewick’s excellent recreational facilities.
Water Folly Background
The Tri-City Water Follies were established in 1965 and are run by a board of directors made up of volunteers. Much of the money raised by the non-profit organization is used to improve the shorelines in Columbia Park and Pasco. Because of its enormous contribution to the area, many civic organizations contribute to the event in exchange for using the festival as an opportunity to boost fundraising efforts. Thousands of volunteers pitch in each year.
For over 40 years, the Kennewick Hydroplane Races and air show have contributed to the community, and have brought in millions of dollars in revenue from tourism and sales.
