Mesa, Washington is a farming community north of the Tri-Cities supported by dryland farming, irrigated farming, and livestock. Mesa has gone through several names since being a town, it was first called Bluff Wells and then Judson, and now Mesa. Mesa was one of the stops between Pasco (then Ainsworth) and Spokane for the Northern Pacific Railroad. In 1948 the Columbia Irrigation Project brought water to the area; before this time people relied on their own private wells or on the railroad wells in Mesa. The population of Mesa as of the last census reported 425 residents spread out in 105 households. Mesa has nice seasonal weather with nice sunny summers and snowy winters.
