Finley may be a small area, but you’ll find plenty in the way of recreation should you choose to live here, from every-day activities to weekend day-trips. With the much larger city of Kennewick just six miles away, almost any entertainment or recreational activity you can think of is within easy reach. Living in Finley, you have all the advantages of living in a small, quiet town combined with the benefits of being part of the Tri-Cities area.
Close by to Finley is Two Rivers Park. This is definitely where you want to go for those lazy Sunday afternoon picnics. The park is open year-round, and the climate is often temperate enough for winter visits. Two Rivers Park is also a great place to go for swimming, and fishing, and there’s a boating ramp there, too, as well as hiking and biking trails, and a playground for the kids.
If you have a taste for outdoor adventure, Columbia Park, just north of Kennewick, is somewhere you’ll probably want to spend a lot of time. Columbia Park is approximately 300 acres of stunning scenery, and includes an 18-hole golf course as well as a driving range. Other activities available here include water-skiing, fishing, tennis, and camping, and there are also boating ramps available for use.
For day trips in the area, there are plenty of options to choose from. Wine connoisseurs will want to take a trip to Preston Premium Wines in nearby Pasco, or Badger Mountain Vineyards in Kennewick itself. To find out more about the history of the area, the East Benton County Historical Museum has many fun and interesting exhibits, and there are many historical points of interest to visit, too – the famous explorer duo Lewis and Clark made their way down the Columbia River two hundred years ago, and the places they visited then are still in existence today. There are several “ghost towns” in the area, including the town of Hover, a few miles down-river of Finley.
A night on the town in Kennewick will surely mean eating at one of the many superb restaurants in the area. Choose from a wide variety of heavenly seafood at the Red Lobster; eat Italian-style at Olive Garden, Thai at the Double Dragon, or Mexican at the Three Margaritas. Round out your evening at the Celebrity Bowl & Casino for some gaming fun, or see a movie or a play at the Village Theatre.
If you want to go a little bit further afield, the Tri-Cities area offers a wide variety of cultural, recreational, and historical activities and places to visit. From windsurfing to snow-skiing, museums and art galleries, fine dining and vibrant nightlife, nothing is too far away from the town of Finley.
