Walk to Defeat ALS - Help Find Treatment and Cure
Walk to Defeat ALS is a fundraising event. The walk aims to help people in the community who are suffering from ALS. Raising awareness about ALS is also one of its objectives. There is an urgent need to find treatment and cure for this condition and community events such as a walk for a cause can help address this need.
ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a condition that stems from a neurodegenerative condition which impacts the nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. The symptoms of ALS vary from person to person but these usually include muscle weakness and uncontrollable laughing or crying. ALS is a complicated condition to diagnose. Through the Walk to Defeat ALS, it is hoped that the community members who are experiencing these symptoms will be encouraged to seek treatment the soonest possible time.
