Tri-Cities Wa – 5th Top Metro Area for Creating and Sustaining Jobs

California-based think tank company Milken Institute has released a report on the Top US Metro Areas that managed to create and sustain jobs in light of the national recession. The Kennewick-Richland-Pasco area is ranked number five on this list of 13 metro areas for the second year in a row. During the last 12 months, the Tri-City Washington area’s jobs increased by 4.5 percent, which is the highest percentage growth in the nation. This large increase in jobs is due mostly to the stimulus money coming in for Hanford.

2022 Tri-Cities International Fantastic Film Festival in Richland, WA

The Tri-Cities International Film Festival (TRIFI) is back from October 14 thru 16, showcasing indie films from across the world at the Uptown Theater in Richland It spotlights films made on a limited budget, but not limited to imagination, according to the website. 

Details of the Tri-Cities International Fantastic Film Festival
Over three days, TRIFI will show 65 films. On Friday, all-age films will be shown, including “Hanford,” the documentary made by a Hanford High School student. Saturday will feature numerous PNW directors, plus entries in the 72-Hour Film Challenge. Teams entered to write, shoot, and edit a short film in 72 hours.

Every year the City of Prosser Washington holds the Great Prosser Balloon Rally during the month of September. This year the event will take place the weekend of the 22rd-24th, Friday, lasting through Sunday. Those of you who are early risers will enjoy the sunrise liftoffs each morning at 6:15, Friday-Sunday. The sunrise launches take place at the Prosser Airport.
