The Allied Arts Gallery in Richland Washington will be hosting the annual Northwest Designer Craftsman exhibition this year. The exhibition began on August 31 and will go through September 24. This annual exhibition began in 1954 and features various art created from traditional material that blurs the line between craft and fine art. Tomorrow, August 28, head on out to Howard Amon Park in Richland Washington for the Bark for Life Rally. For several years now the nationally recognized Relay for Life event has begun a Bark for Life Rally. This rally is a place where dogs and their owners can participate together with the purpose of raising money to support the American Cancer Society. This personal safety class will be taught by Don Gulla, a veteran law enforcement officer who trains other cops on crisis intervention and defensive tactics. More than 65 years ago plutonium produced at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation was used to create Fat Man, the atomic bomb used on Nagasaki. Today at 8:30pm many will get together for a memorial at John Dam Plaza in Richland Washington to mark the 65 anniversary of the bombing at Nagasaki, Japan. Those in attendance will be able to take part in music and prayer to remember the past with hope for the future.
