The Basics – Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s DiseaseThe Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease
On Thursday, March 20, from 1-3PM, Bethel Church will present The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease, an educational workshop co-sponsored by Kadlec Neurological Resource Center and the Alzheimer’s Association. There will also be an evening session on the same day, from 6-8PM.

Alarming Statistics for Alzheimer’s Disease
People affected by Alzheimer’s disease are growing in numbers. In fact, in March of last year, the National Vital Statistics System released data showing Washington State as having the highest mortality rate for Alzheimer’s disease in the U.S. At 46.3 deaths per 100,000 people, the state’s death rate for the year 2010 far exceeded the national rate of 25.1 deaths per 100,000.

Be in the Know
Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. So if Alzheimer’s disease or dementia affects you or someone you know, it’s time to learn everything there is to know about it.

The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease aims to provide information on detection, causes, risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment, and so much more. This workshop is open to the public and will be presented without charge.

You may call (509) 943-8455 or visit Kadlec’s website, www.kadlec.org/knrc, for more information and registration inquiries.

Again, the workshop will be presented at Bethel Church, 600 Shockley Road, Richland, Wa on Thursday, from 1-3PM and 6-8PM.
