About Yin Yoga
This type of yoga is a quiet practice suitable for students of all levels of experience. Unlike its yang counterpart, yin is passive in nature and requires holding supine, low back, and hip postures for an extended time, usually four to five minutes per pose. Its goal is to gently stretch the dense connective tissue around the joints, which becomes stiff limiting mobility as people age.
