17th Annual Safe Kids Saturday

On Saturday, May 7, the 17th annual Safe Kids Saturday event will be held in the Kadlec Regional Medical Center campus. This annual event is from 10:00am until 2:00pm in the Corrado Parking Lot of Kadlec on the corner of Swift & Goethals. This event is a great for parents who want their children to learn more about safety. Safe Kids Saturday is a great way to for children to learn about safety and to have fun at the same time. Parents will also learn ways to keep their children safe with the help of over 30 community-minded organizations. Washington State University Tri Cities is holding their annual Career Fair March 22 at their Richland campus. The Career Fair will be held from 12:30-4:30 in the Consolidated Information Center (CIC).  If you have just graduated, are in the process of changing jobs, or a college student looking for a summer internship then this is the perfect opportunity for you! On April 16, come out and run in support of local Autism programs around the Tri Cities Washington area at the Responding to Autism Fun Run. All the proceeds raised at the run will go towards providing resources for families affected by autism; resources such as low cost/free autism screenings.

The Responding to Autism Fun Run will include a 1 mile family friendly, 5K and a 10K. The cost is $20 for the 5K or the 10K; price includes a t-shirt. The 1 mile run is $5 and does not include a t-shirt. The price to buy a t-shirt separately is $15. During the week of March 22-30, join together with people and churches from around the Tri Cities community to participate in Sharefest. Sharefest events include a blood drive, workday, and offering. The workday is scheduled for March 26, if you are interested in participating in Sharefest contact your local church or visit the Sharefest Tri Cities website for more information about projects. The Sharefest offering will go towards several local organizations. The money donations will go towards Ignite Youth Mentoring and Teen Challenge, the food donations will go to 2nd Harvest Tri Cities, supply donations will go to the Union Gospel Mission and blood donations will go to the Benton Franklin Red Cross.
