On April 17, at 7PM, Kathleen Flenniken will have a presentation at the Mid-Columbia Libraries in Kennewick. East Benton Historical Society will host this presentation.Â

Currently, Hanford is entangled in an environmental cleanup that is considered the world’s largest, by far. Included in this cleanup project is the construction of a $12.2 billion waste treatment plant, which has been beset by problems like aging workforce, a history of secrecy, and a reputation for punishing whistleblowers.Â

While there have been plenty of news reports about the costly Hanford programs, most citizens of Washington State have very little knowledge about the site and its history. Â
