Annual Sweater Weather: Fashion For The Urban Forest Richland, WA

On Wednesday, October 21 everyone is invited to the annual Sweater Weather: Fashion for the Urban Forest art event at Howard Amon Park in Richland, Washington.

The event is a yarn inspired tree wrap and art walk through the park. About 20 sweaters, created by fiber artists of all ages and experience levels decorated the tree trunks in the south end of Howard Amon Park.

A guided walking tours is set on Wednesday, October the 21, at 9:00 in the morning. Walkers are invited to meet at the end of Lee Boulevard for this for this moderate one-hour walk.

The project is sponsored by both the Richland Parks and Recreation and the Parks Commission to encourage conversation, community pride, and walk-ability.…

Richland Run Fest – A Full Marathon, a Half Marathon and a 5K Run

Just a head’s up: this race is not to be confused with the USRA-sponsored Tri Cities Half Marathon happening in April.

The Richland Run Fest is a running event comprised of a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 5k run. This is scheduled for February 22 at the Red Lion in Richland Wa. Packet pick-up, as well as pre-race and post-race activities will all take place there.

If you’re from outside the Tri Cities, we’re happy to inform you that the Red Lion will be providing rooms at a discounted rate of $89.00, but you need to mention explicitly that you are part of or running at the Richland Run Fest. 31st Annual Mustang Show and Shine Car Show

The Pacific Northwest Mustang Club will be hosting the 31st Annual Show and Shine Car Show this weekend in Richland Washington. The Show and Shine Car Show is the Northwest's finest Mustang car show, this year they are expecting over 140 mustangs. On Saturday, May 28, things will get rolling in the O'Reilly Auto Parts and Dairy Queen Chill & Grill parking lot in Richland. At 11:30am there will be a mini cruise and lunch, a little later on Saturday get a sneak peak at the informal Show & Shine beginning at 5:30pm.

Responding to Autism Fun Run at Richland WA's Howard Amon Park

On April 16, come out and run in support of local Autism programs around the Tri Cities Washington area at the Responding to Autism Fun Run. All the proceeds raised at the run will go towards providing resources for families affected by autism; resources such as low cost/free autism screenings.

The Responding to Autism Fun Run will include a 1 mile family friendly, 5K and a 10K. The cost is $20 for the 5K or the 10K; price includes a t-shirt. The 1 mile run is $5 and does not include a t-shirt. The price to buy a t-shirt separately is $15. Bark for Life Relay at Howard Amon Park

Tomorrow, August 28, head on out to Howard Amon Park in Richland Washington for the Bark for Life Rally. For several years now the nationally recognized Relay for Life event has begun a Bark for Life Rally. This rally is a place where dogs and their owners can participate together with the purpose of raising money to support the American Cancer Society. This year it has been decided to throw a rally here in Richland. There will be many Demonstrations and Vendors available at the rally to help raise money.
