One of literature’s greatest works, by no less than the greatest English writer of all time, William Shakespeare, will be given a 20th century approach by the drama students of the Academy of Children’s Theatre.

ACT’s production will take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, setting it in 1967 during San Francisco’s Summer of Love. The story will follow the adventures of a spirited but mischievous fairy, Puck, who pulls on all sorts of hilarious antics that intentionally and unintentionally complicate the other characters, which include Oberon, Titania, Hermia, Helena, Lysander, Demetrius, Egeus, Theseus, Hippolyta and Bottom.

Tri Cities Heart for the Fatherless Alongside Fundraising All over the world, there are thousands of orphaned children in need of a family to care for them. That is the reason why Alongside Fundraising (Adoption Fundraising Support Ministry) was born. The ministry’s purpose is to help local families in the Tri Cities with their adoption fundraising efforts. This is done by creating, organizing, and running family-friendly events to raise funds so these children can finally “come home”.

Tri Cities Wa Lighted Boat ParadeTri Cities Wa Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River this weekend December 4th and 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 in the evening.  Bring your warm clothes and (hopefully) stand next to a warm fire or friend and enjoy the parade.  We have a home on the Columbia River and the Lighted Boat Parade has been a holiday highlight for us as a family.

Christmas Lighted Boat Parade will travel up river on the Kennewick side along Columbia Park. At around 7:30 in the evening they will turn around at the far end of Howard Amon Park in Richland and travel back down river on the same course. They will arrive back at Clover Island and make an additional loop for everyone on the island before heading back into the Clover Island Marina at around 9:00…

McNary Wildlife RefugeThe Winter Birds Event at McNary's Wildlife Refuge will be a lot of fun and very relaxing. This summer Hapo, the official sponsor of summer, is holding the 9th annual Live @ 5 concert series on Thursday nights at 5:00pm. Each year these weekly concert series throughout the summer draws thousands of people. Live @ 5 is a family friend event held in Richland WA's John Dam Plaza. These weekly concerts are free but make sure to bring some money there will be vendors present as well as activities for the kids. Both regional and local talent will featured.

19th Annual Cool Desert Nights
For the past 19 years the Tri City Regional Chamber of Commerce has hosted Cool Desert Nights in Richland Washington. This family friendly community event is a weekend long car show sponsored by HAPO Community Credit Union, “The Official Sponsor of Summer.” Cool Desert Nights features cars of all ages, makes and models; last year over 700 cars were registered. Throughout the weekend nearly 15,000 people attended the event last year.
