The Tour of the Ice Age/Mammoth Dig/Wallula Gap/Lower Walla Walla Valley
The guided tour explores the rich landscape of the Tri-Cities. Headed by the ice age flood expert Gary Kleinknecht, the trip will begin from the Coyote Cannon Mammoth dig site to Wallula Gap and the lower Walla Walla Valley. Learn more about the natural, scientific and cultural history of the Tri-Cities.

Registration Fee:
$85 includes tour guide, beverages, bus and lunch.

About the Event
The 2015 tour is designed to enhance the experience of their visitors by taking them out to see natural landscapes, wine country and the world’s first full scale plutonium production reactor. The tour begins with appetizers and a taste of the finest wine at Hedges and then stops at Fidelitas for the main course and wine tasting. At the end of the tour, visitors will be able to get a chance to taste the wines at Kiona Winery and dessert. The tour includes tour guide, bus, lunch and wine.

The tour will be conducted by Gary Kleinknecht, new president of the Ice Age Flood Institute. He is also a high school teacher in Richland and is five year member of the Ice Age Flood Institute. He founded to promote the proposed trail route and its history. The public is invited to have the tour with him as he relates stories about the history of the different stops. Tour includes bus, beverages, tour guide and lunch.

Everyone is invited to come and join geologist-author Bruce Bjornstad on the Columbia River Journey's jet-boat tour from Richland through Wallula Gap before departing for a tour of McNary Dam. Continue by bus to Boardman, OR for a delicious lunch along the banks of the Columbia River followed by a tour of the Sage Center. Tour includes jet-boat ride, bus, lunch at the River Grill, beverages, and entrance to the Sage Center.
