Symphony Series – A Little Summer Night Music in Walla WallaNow on its 107th season, the Walla Walla Symphony proudly presents the fifth installment of their Symphony Series aptly entitled “A Little Summer Night Music”. The concert is taking place at the Cordiner Hall of Whitman College in Walla Walla on April 15.

Walla Walla Symphony is presenting “A Little Summer Night Music” in collaboration with Blue Mountain Audubon Society. Mid-Columbia Mastersingers Concert – Unterseher and GesualdoOn February 21 at 7:30PM and February 22 at 3:00PM, the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers will present the third in their Perfect Pairing Concert Series.

On both days, the work of Tri Cities’ composer, Reginald Unterseher, will be presented, along with a weeklong guest artist residency and an exciting new commission. Some top local singers will be featured in small group performances highlighting Unterseher’s music as it is paired with the works of innovative Rennaisance composer Carlo Gesualdo. There will also be a 30-minute “Behind the Music” talk before each concert.

This summer Hapo, the official sponsor of summer, is holding the 9th annual Live @ 5 concert series on Thursday nights at 5:00pm. Each year these weekly concert series throughout the summer draws thousands of people. Live @ 5 is a family friend event held in Richland WA's John Dam Plaza. These weekly concerts are free but make sure to bring some money there will be vendors present as well as activities for the kids. Both regional and local talent will featured.

Hydroplane Race Kick-Off Party
On July 29, come on out to Clover Island Inn for an evening of fun and gear up for the 46th Annual Columbia Cup Hydroplane Races, Colorblind will be playing. Things will kick off at 7:00pm and go until about 11:00pm. The cost is $5 per person, only those over the age of 21 will be admitted.

Bethel Church in Richland Washington will be holding a worship conference and concert for anyone who is interested in coming. Refined Worship Conference and Concert will take place on February 26 at the main Richland Campus of Bethel Church. The Conference is from 1:00pm-5:00pm and costs $35 per person. There will be a large group session with Jeff Deyo and smaller workshops on various instruments and some for tech teams.

Following the Refined Worship Conference will be the Refined Worship Concert featuring Jeff Deyo. Doors will open at 5:30. There is no cost to attend, a free will offering will be taken to offset expenses, net proceeds will go to a local charity.

This weekend the Mid Columbia Mastersingers presents A Big Band Christmas performance. This musical performance will take place Saturday night, December 18, in the Chiawana High School auditorium, in Pasco Washington, beginning at 7:00pm. The performance will feature soprano Carisa Simpson, baritone Jeremy Irland, and the Columbia Basin Jazz Orchestra directed by Randy Hubbs. The Mid Columbia Mastersingers will also provide a special presentation of The Pacific Northwest Premiere of a Cantata.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, and the cost is $20 per adult, $15 for senior citizens and college students. There is no charge to attend for kindergarten through high school students.

The Mid Columbia Mastersingers will be performing on Friday, September 24, at the Central United Protestant Church in Richland Washington. The group will be performing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto Number 2 in F major, his Cantata “Es ist nichts Gesundes an meinem Leibe” BWV 25, as well as Vivaldi’s Gloria in D major. This Mastersingers event will feature internationally-acclaimed early music soprano Julianne Baird and early music specialist Kraig Scott on harpsichord. On Saturday, September 25, at the Batelle Auditorium in Richland the Camerata Musica will be featuring a solo vocal recital of Julianne Baird at 8:00pm.
