About the New Year's Day Hike
The New Year's Day Hike is I-MAC's annual trek up event which has become a tradition for more than 60 years. It features a 4-mile round trip hike with 800-foot elevation gain. Rain or shine, this event will push through so everyone is advised to dress appropriately. Participants can bring treats they can share at the top, which is also a part of the Badger Mountain trek up tradition. Don't miss this exciting adventure!

The Mid-Columbia Libraries is calling on all fitness buffs and those who wish to indulge in the beauty of the Badger Mountain to join the Badger Mountain Yoga Hike event which will take place on the 4th of June, 2016. The Badger Mountain Challenge is set on March 25 and 26, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. The Badger Mountain Challenge offers four distances which are comprised of 15k, 50k, 50 miles and 100 miles. The 50 and 100 mile races will start at the Trailhead park on the Northeast side of Badger Mt. at 525 Queensgate Drive, Richland, WA while the 50k and 15k races will begin at the Bethel Church located at 600 Shockley Rd., Richland, WA. On Saturday, October 10 Northwest Cancer Clinic is inviting the Tri-City community to join and gather at the Badger Mountain to honor Breast Cancer patients and survivors as well as their family and loved ones who had been involved in fighting this disease.

It is also the qualifying race for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, so if you want to be part of such a prestigious race, make sure you’re present on the following dates.
Do you think the 15k trail is too easy? Well, here is where the challenge begins. Go up against some of the more experienced runners on March 29 for the Badger Mountain Challenge 50k Ultra Marathon, which is sponsored by Subaru, Confidence in Motion. Check-in time is between 6-6:45AM and actual marathon start at 7:00AM. However, you have the option to go for an early start, which is at 6:00AM.
